The 2020 Jeep Gladiator Makes its World Debut at Planet Chrysler Jeep Dodge Ram

It's finally here. The 2020 Jeep Gladiator has arrived in Franklin, MA, officially marking Jeep's return to the pickup segment after a hiatus of 27 years. The last Jeep truck ever released was the Comanche, all the way back in 1992, and in that time, it seems Jeep has learned a thing or two about what it takes to make a high-quality modern truck while still delivering something that is uniquely Jeep for drivers around Attleboro.

For long time brand aficionados around Mendon MA, it's immediately apparent that the Jeep Gladiator's visual aesthetic is heavily influenced by the Wrangler, but that carries over into more than just appearances. The Gladiator is set to be the most proficient off-roading truck in history, and it can be yours today.

Unrivaled Performance for Off-Roaders

In order to fulfill the vision they had for the Gladiator's potential, Jeep came ready to play right from the get-go. The 2020 Jeep Gladiator comes standard with a 3.6-liter V6 that outputs 285 horsepower and 260 pound-feet of torque which comes paired to a six-speed manual transmission.

Of course, Jeep wasn't content to limit the Gladiator's potential to just the standard offerings. At launch, Gladiator buyers can swap the manual transmission for an eight-speed automatic transmission that is both effortless and responsive when it shifts.

Jeep is planning on releasing a turbocharged 3.0-liter V6 EcoDiesel engine that significantly boosts the Gladiator's torque rating. This engine's final specs will clock in at 260 horsepower and 442 pound-feet of torque.

The Gladiator's engine chops are supplemented by a strong body design that works together to produce an elite off-roader. A high air intake and special water sealing empower the Gladiator to burst through creeks and streams with depths of up to 30 inches while the ground clearance, particularly the Rubicon's 11.1 inches better allow the pickup to get over obstacles without damaging the undercarriage.

A Familiar and Functional Interior

On top of its exterior look, the Gladiator shares a very similar ambiance with its interior as the Wrangler. In terms of functionality, every important feature you need is located easily and intuitively within reach of the driver. The latest version of the Uconnect infotainment system comes complete with available Apple arPlay and Android Auto compatibility as well as Voice Command technology.

Also like the Wrangler, the Jeep Gladiator comes with a soft folding top, which can be upgraded to one of two different hardtops. Other available features include a forward-facing camera, a nine-speaker Alpine audio system, and additional USB charging ports.

What's also great about the Gladiator's interior is that it is completely water resistant, allowing owners to take a hose to wash out mud and grime after a long day of off-roading. How might you get your interior so dirty, you ask? The Gladiator is the first-ever open-air mid-size truck, thanks to its removable doors and windows.

Trim Level Overview

Jeep Gladiator Sport: The base trim level of the Gladiator comes standard with a cloth upholstery, rearview camera, a five-inch touchscreen, eight-speaker audio system, Bluetooth, a pair of fast-charging USB ports, skid plates, and a transfer case.

Jeep Gladiator Sport S: The Sport S includes everything that the base trim level does but adds power windows and locks. There are also several available packages you can add on top of that.

Jeep Gladiator Overland: The Overland includes everything in the previous two trim levels but upgrades the touchscreen from five to seven inches and adds satellite radio and compatibility with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay.

Jeep Gladiator Rubicon: The Rubicon is the trim level that focuses on off-roading by adding features headlined by 33-inch tires and a premium cloth upholstery. You'll also get front and rear locking differentials, rock rails, a sway bar, and a brush guard.

Jeep Gladiator Launch Edition: As you might surmise, the Launch Edition is a temporary trim that will last during only the Gladiator's first year, and it is also the most expensive. Only 4,190 Launch Edition models will be made, and it comes with everything in all of the other trim levels but adds all-terrain tires, genuine leather upholstery, heated seats, a larger 8.4-inch touchscreen, among a slew of advanced safety features.
